You must NOT depend on your feelings. These can change from day to day. You depend on FACTS, which do not change.
I know I am a Christian because of what Jesus did. Jesus paid the price for my sins when He died on the cross. My sins are forgiven because Jesus successfully finished the work He came to do.
I know I am a Christian because God’s word (The Bible) tells me I am a Christian. There are so many promises in the Bible about this. You can be very sure of this because God is true to His Word. He never bluffs us. I know I am a Christian because the holy spirit is in my life now. There is no more reason why you know you are now a Christian. This is something to do with the way you live. If you love other Christians and all people, you show that you are a true Christian. You cannot love in this way without God’s help.

THE HOLY SPIRIT
The HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD’S GIFT to all true Christians. Before Jesus died He promised His friends He would send them this wonderful person who would stay with them for ever. Galations 4:6. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A PERSON. Jesus talks about the Spirit as “HE” and not “IT”. John 16:13-14. How many times does Jesus use the word “HE” when speaking of the Spirit of Truth? Jesus calls the HOLY SPIRIT, THE COUNSELLOR. This word means HELPER or ADVISER. It means someone who is always ready and able to help you in every part of your life.
THE HOLY SPIRIT made you a CHILD OF GOD. You did not make yourself a Christian. God made you a Christian when you believed in Jesus.
YOU RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT WHEN YOU BELIEVED IN JESUS. But each day you must let Him control you and give you the power to live a good life. “be filled with the Spirit.” Ephesians 5:18. This is a command to obey. You should keep on letting the Holy Spirit fill and control your life. You should ask Him to do this every day. If you do this, then you have God the Holy Spirit with you all the time to help, teach and guide you. Ask Him to help you because He is you HELPER.
When you believed in Jesus, this mean that the Holy Spirit came into you to make you true Christian. So if you are a Christian you already have the HOLY SPIRIT. Remember that GOD IS ONE. So when you received Jesus into your life, you also received God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. You cannot just have one person of God in you and not the whole TRINITY. In the Bible that the Holy Spirit has two special tasks to do in each Christian.
i. He helps us to produce the fruit of good Christian character. The Holy Spirit makes you more like Jesus by producing in you the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT. This has to do with your attitudes, your words and your relationships with others.
ii. He also gives us spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit gives to Christians different SPIRITUAL GIFTS so that they can help build up God’s Church. The Bible describes Christians as the BODY OF CHRIST. Jesus is the head and all of us make up the other parts of the body. Just as the eye in the body has a different function from the ear so the Holy Spirit gives different gifts to different Christians in order that the whole body may benefit from each gift.

JESUS CHRIST
Jesus is the SON OF GOD.
Many times in the Bible Jesus is called the SON OF GOD. Matthew 14:28-33.
This is the greatest reason for believing that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus was a MAN too. Jesus became MAN so that He could understand our life and problems. When we are tempted to do wrong, we sometimes sin. Jesus was also tempted to do wrong. But what did HE NEVER DO ? So in this very important way Jesus was not like us. We know now that Jesus is both GOD and MAN. This wonderful truth is shown clearly in the story of His SPECIAL BIRTH. Jesus was born in the same way as we were born. But Jesus had NO HUMAN FATHER. He was conceived (began life) in a way no other person has begun life. Luke 1:35. So it is quite right to call Jesus by the name “EMMANUEL” because it means GOD WITH US.
Jesus was a great TEACHER. He taught us that God loves us. And He also showed God’s love by the life He lived. Luke 7:22.
Jesus CAME TO DIE on the Cross for us. Jesus knew that He must die for us. Jesus CAME ALIVE AGAIN after 3 days. He rose from the dead. Jesus was seen alive by many people. Jesus WENT BACK TO HEAVEN again. After 40 days with His friends, Jesus left them and went back to God the Father. Jesus WILL COME AGAIN to this world one day. Jesus is LIVING now and PRAYING FOR US.

GOD – THE TRINITY
Christians worship only ONE God. Yet this ONE God is seen as THREE PERSONS in the Bible. That is why we say that GOD is a TRINITY and ONE. It is a hard for us to understand this. We say that one is one, and three is three! But the Bible says that God is THREE in ONE. He is both at the same time. And we can begin to understand this in our own experience. We can know the ONE true God in THREE wonderful relationships.
LIFE IN GOD’S FAMILY
When you received Jesus as your Saviour and Friend, you became a child of God. So now you belong to God’s family.
When we were born into our own family, our parents had to get a BIRTH CERTIFICATE for us. As Christians, we are given a birth certificate from God Himself. We can use the verse John 1:12 as our personal birth certificate.

NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
When you accepted Christ as your Saviour, you became a true Christian. Examine the verses and questions that follow. Always remember, your Faith rests not upon Feelings but upon God’s Promises in the Bible.
Because you have received Jesus as Saviour, you are now in God’s family. God is your loving heavenly Father, and Jesus is your Friend, who will be with you always. Because Jesus is your Saviour, He forgives you for all the things you have done wrong in the past. But more wonderful still, He is ready to forgive you whenever you do wrong or let Him down.
A Christian is someone who:
Has asked Jesus Christ into his life.
Has become a child of God.
Has had his sins forgiven.
Has eternal life.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
